SOCIAL IMPACT STORYTELLER

PLAYWRIGHT - I love stories with fun and gawky characters (egocentric in some way too); The Malvolios of the world. I find characters who aren’t fully aware of their actions and surroundings frustrating but intriguing. I like to be challenged by those whom at first I can’t fully crack as I enjoy seeking to understand the human psyche. These people are the characters whom I find the greatest inspiration in creating in my plays. I approach acting and writing as an investigation. Similarly, characters who are different from me excite me. They allow my imagination to run wild! I’m interested in characters who are chichi. Chichi is a word that my friends and I made up which means someone who is charming and cute and doesn’t know it!

JOURNALIST

My interest and dedication to journalism comes from my love and the value I see in storytelling as well as inspired by my grandfather who was a photojournalist. Much of the journalism work that I do seeks to combine image and text.

Surviving Time and Circumstance

This is an exerpt from  "Surviving Time and Circumstance: A Documentary Film Series Addressing the Refugee Crisis.” The project is a film series about perseverance, hope, and humanity. The film series was created through Zoom interviews with people who identify as refugees answering a series of questions while sharing their story. The hopeis that this project will bring to light the similarities between all of us, the difficulties refugees face, and how we can each make the world a better place.
